Overview
Without the right teacher even the best reading method will be grounded. Are you doing everything you can to get the best out of your students?

Ultimately the strength of any educational institution be it a kindergarten, primary school or university, rests on the quality of its teaching personnel. Fundamental to this teacher quality is teacher training. Get the training right and you're over halfway to success.

The Fitzroy Teacher Certification Course is the only program endorsed by Fitzroy Programs, creators of the Fitzroy Method. It provides teachers with the knowledge and tools necessary to ensure that they get the most from their students and teaching material. The course is comprehensive. lively and hands on. Upon its completion, participants will be equipped with everything they need to know to teach the Fitzroy Method with confidence, skill and a sense of pleasure.

The course is divided up into ten easily digestible teaching units plus a 45 minute exam. At the end of each unit there will be a Q & A session to ensure a thorough understanding of the material presented.

About the Speaker: Jeremy O' Carroll - Director of Training, The Fitzroy Method
Born in Melbourne, Australia, Jeremy O' Carroll was a founding student at the Fitzroy Community School (birthplace of the Fitzroy Readers). He later attended one of Australia's most prestigious secondary schools, Melbourne Church of England Grammar School, before commencing his tertiary studies at the University of Melbourne. In 1999 he gained his Honours degree (Italian studies) and in 2000 began work on his PhD. In the same year he was awarded a much coveted APA (Australia Postgraduate Award) Scholarship.

 
Jeremy has tutored & co-lectured at the University of Melbourne (2000-2001)
 
Has successfully conducted numerous workshops and seminars on the Fitzroy Method in Australia, Taiwan and Singapore
 
Is the co-author of the Fitzroy Readers Teacher's Manual

At the conclusion of the course all participants will receive a Fitzroy Certificate of Attendance. Those who successfully pass the assessment test will also receive a Fitzroy Readers Teacher Training Certificate. This certifies that you are competent to teach the Fitzroy Method. It is the only currently available certificate granted by Fitzroy Programs.

As a bonus, all participants who successfully completed the course will receive a selection of test sheets enabling them to assess the level of student competency for each reading level (1-7). Students who pass these tests should be deemed capable of advancing to to their next reading level.
